China News Service (CNS) is a state-level news agency in China providing news coverage to the world. Its main subscribers include those from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, overseas Chinese and related foreigners.
CNS was sponsored and established by Chinese journalists and renowned overseas Chinese experts on October 1, 1952. Liao Chengzhi, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, was the founder as well as leader of CNS.JinZhonghua, a famous expert on international issues, served as the first president of CNS. Formerly, CNS was known as International News Service, established by Fan Changjiang, Hu Yuzhi and Yu Guilin in 1938.
